Hunter

The subject of this article appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

I've got a big problem man! I... I lost my family rifle in the Wild Territory. I wanted to shoot some bloodsuckers but I barely got away. Damn! Listen, bro'... if you get it back I'll pay you. I've made a little cash here and I'll give you all of it, just get my rifle back. It's a family rifle, you know, passed down from father to son... And I lost it! I've grown used to it, it's like an extension of my arm now...
― Hunter

Hunter (Ru. Охотник) is a character who appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Background

Good-natured, cheerful guy whose only problem is that he can't shoot from anything other than a hunting rifle. Hunter hasn't even tried any other guns lately. He recently got into a scrap in the Wild Territory and lost his family rifle. Now he is lounging about in the bar hoping that someone will give him his rifle back[non-game. 1].

He lost a prized hunting rifle that was passed down to him from his father while hunting bloodsuckers in the Wild Territory.

Appearances

Shadow of Chernobyl

Hunter hangs out in the 100 Rads bar, at the counter just next to the entrance of the bar. He provides a quest to retrieve his rifle from the Wild Territory, for which he rewards the player with 4000 RU. After that, he can give the player a repeatable mission to kill a bloodsucker in the Army Warehouses.

Trivia

  • He mentions that he lost his rifle in a bloodsucker lair, although the Electro tunnel in which the weapon is found does not spawn this type of mutants. This is because the tunnel was effectively inhabited by bloodsuckers in pre-release builds, but his dialogue was not changed to account for the change.
  • He has a box of 5.56x45mm SS109 ammunition in his inventory, though the player cannot buy it from him.
