Fanatic appears at the Rookie Village in the Cordon, replacing Wolf after the player's trip through Lab X-18. He reveals that Wolf got a message from a passerby, packed his things, took a box of dynamite and left, leaving Fanatic in charge of the rookies at the village.^{[quote. 1]}

He provides a single mission which requires the player to help him fend off an impending mercenary raid on the village.
