Space theme

The space theme is a stage theme that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Elements common among space stages include the ability to switch the direction of gravity, meteorites and asteroids as obstacles, celestial bodies as either set pieces or background decor, and space stations as the main setting. See: Space gimmicks.

Any stage can be a space-themed stage as long as it is set in outer space, even if it consists of very limited space elements in the stage.

Most space stages appear during the end of the game, and more often than not, are usually where the player fights the game's true final boss with their Super-form such as The Doomsday Zone.
