Sonic Joe (ソニックジョー Sonikkujō?) is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog illustrated stories published by Shogakukan. He was a pilot and a good friend of Paulie, until he was killed in a plane accident. He was immortalized following his death for his status as the first pilot to break the sound barrier, with legends stating that his spirit still lingers as a guardian to all pilots.
Appearance
Sonic Joe is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with a heavy resemblance to Sonic, except notably older. He wears a brown pilot's jacket with a patch reading "SEGA" on its left sleeve and white gloves.
Personality
Sonic Joe was much like Sonic in personality, sharing his temper and sense of justice
