Mod Pod

The Mod Pod^[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are capsules that are used to unlock Mods and Bonus Boxes.

Description

Mod Pods are hollow, sphere-shaped red capsules with a thick yellow star marking on their upper and lower hemisphere. These pods are contained in a gashapon.

Overview

In Team Sonic Racing, Mod Pods are used by the player to unlock Mods and Bonus Boxes for them to use. In gameplay, Mod Pods can be purchased for ten Credits each in the game's "Mod Pods" menu on the main menu. This mode is modeled after the gashapon system. Once a Mod Pod has been purchased, it will be pulled out of the gashapon and pop open. The player will then receive a random Performance Part, Car Cosmetic (Vinyl, Paint Kit or Horn) or Bonus Box. Mod Pods also never run out, and the player can buy them as many of them as they need as long as they have enough Credits to pay for them.
