Crown

The Crown is an object that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is a type of old artifacts that can be collected throughout the game to unlock additional content.

Description

Crowns take the appearance of blue-colored crowns seemingly made of a light blue crystallin substance. They have dark blue edges and points along the upper rim, with what appear to a pale jewel embedded in each of these points. They also have pale jewels embedded on their outer surface. Lastly, they are each surrounded by a blue bubble.

Overview

In Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, Crowns are scattered around each normmal level and hub level. Each of these levels contain a specific number of crowns. Some are easy to spot while others may require completing a puzzle or a thorough search. To object a Crown, all the player has to do is approach it. It will then move towards the playable character and be added to the player's collection. Should the player replay a level and encounter a Crown that they have already obtained, the Crown in question will appear as a transparent white shade of its former self. Crowns can also be obtained by trading Shinies with Sticks on Bygone Island. There are a total 266 Crowns to be found in the game.

Although Crowns do not provide any benefits to the player directly, they can be used to unlock Team Upgrades for the player to purchase at the Team Upgrade totems at Cliff's Excavation Site and on Bygone Island.
