The God War (a.k.a. "The Fight Against God") was a war between JoshA20, a server admin, and the members of Business Bay (TommyInnit, Bitzel, LukeOrSomething, TimeDeo) on Day 40.

Some consider it one of the deadliest wars on the server.

Cause

This battle was provoked when Chip traveled to Business Bay to make a deal which would prevent them from being killed if they accidentally mine under Business Bay land in return for all of the ores they had already mined under the country. The deal was a success and proposed as fair. Josh then teleported to chip, and trolled Business Bay with a Knockback 70 Punch 70 stick. Tommy manages to take the stick and hide it for a while until it was taken back by Josh.

The War

Business Bay quickly brought up its arsenal and started attacking Josh. The war consisted of three waves, each wave being more intense than the last. It's important to note that even before the war began, Business Bay asked for Josh to not abuse his admin powers.

Wave 1

The first wave started after Tommy realized that his Knockback 70 stick was stolen. Infuriated, he proposed war and TimeDeo drew first blood on the admin. At first, they were knockbacked each time they hit him until Josh realized that he had no chance. At the realization of this, he resorted to using /vanish in order to concede his physical appearance.

After this, Business Bay members returned to the tower to gain a scope of the ensuing war. Deo noted that he saw a figure in the distance. Seconds after this statement, Josh launched Deo and Bitzel off of the bridge leading to both of them having first death on the server. Following this, Josh appeared in full diamond gear (suspected to have enchantments higher than Protection IV and Unbreaking III).

The majority of the first wave battle took place within the two towers. During this part of the conflict, Luke trapped the admins on the tower, leading to the rest of Business Bay to land hit after hit, greatly diminishing Josh's mentality to win without unfairness. However, Luke accidentally breaks the wall that sealed the admin in, prompting him to escape and then vanishing.

Tommy protested with fury upon seeing Josh use his "last resort" (vanishing due to being scared of death). Josh complied and decided to not use vanish for the remainder of the fight.

The remainder of the first wave took place in the water near the Bay until Tommy requested that Josh repair the armor of his faction. Tommy intended on the war to be over, due to it being a no-win scenario for them because of Josh's constant gappling.

Wave 2

Bitzel surprise attacked Josh, breaking his helmet. This prompted the second wave of the war to begin.

TommyInnit's tactic was for Business Bay to circle him and then push him towards the water. This allowed Josh's knockback stick to not work as well and for them to slow down. This was mildly successful for a couple of minutes. The two of them fight through the trees in Business Bay. The Bay's members are successful at hitting Josh a couple of times, but because of Josh's overpowered materials and gapping, these attempts at murder were futile.

Josh's real target was Deo, so when he announced that he was low on health. Josh resorts to attacking Deo head-on, but Business Bay uses their barricade tactic while causes Josh to run into the ocean. Bitz broke Tommy's plane so they had to chase Josh slowly. Luke ran out of materials to use so he resorted to using magma blocks. This proved to be useful as Josh retreats once more to Business Bay's shorelines and loses health on the magma blocks.

The fight would continue until Deo is fatally shot by Josh on the shoreline of a nearby island.

Wave 3

Deo's death left Business Bay enraged and Josh without boots. A barefooted Josh announces his victory because now he can get 2 million views with an 'I killed Deo in SMPEarth' video.

A now gearless Deo returns to the battle. Josh tries to kill him again, but Business Bay defends and fights until they are able to corner Josh. Josh tries to fight but is backed up against grass blocks by Bitz. He weakened by Bitz's diamond sword. Tommy takes the final hit with the Slayer of Boomers.

Aftermath

GodWatching

Business Bay begged Josh for some compensation. They lost a bunch of food, their land was griefed, and their armor was broken. Josh didn't initially give them anything and logged off when they asked. After he logged back in, Bitzel trapped him and each member of Business Bay got to kill Josh.

After this, Josh was forced to have a business meeting with the members of Business Bay. He proceeded to give them items and show off cool tricks to distract them from begging for diamonds, which did not fool Tommy. One of the items given was an airstrike, which Tommy accidentally used, not knowing what it did. Josh also gave them a temporary jump boost, followed by a temporary gliding effect.

Tommy once again begged for diamonds, so Josh complied. Josh still tried messing with them and Business Bay did fall for his tricks. One of these tricks was placing bedrock and making them pose for a photo. The Bay's members thought this was to update their outdated Business Bay banner, but instead, Josh replaced their banner with himself.

This battle proved that Business Bay did, in fact, mean business. With the new members of Business Bay, the country became a contender for becoming the most powerful country.

In the end, Business Bay got a total of 162 diamonds and a game using command blocks. The griefing done by Josh and the mess caused by the war were rolled back by the admin.

Rewards

  • An Airstrike (which Tommy immediately wasted)
  • Temporary Jump boost
  • Temporary Gliding
  • 162 Diamonds
    • Tommy: 41 diamonds
    • Bitzel: 41 diamonds
    • Luke: 40 diamonds
    • Deo: 40 diamonds
  • Satisfaction
    • Before the events of the war, Business Bay was considered a joke, and weak. Following the war, the members gained a great amount of confidence.
  • Two command blocks which caused Josh's Challenge Rush
    • The rush was a series of challenges where members of Business Bay launched themselves into the air using the command blocks. They would plummet down 700 blocks in order to fulfill the "MLG" save (water bucketing at last second).
    • To this day, there has only been one successful winner, TimeDeo.

Trivia

  • During the business meeting, there were not enough seats so Deo had to sit inside a boat.
  • This is the first war won by Business Bay, which has been met with great enthusiasm by the faction members.
  • The reduced gravity during the negotiations was likely a teaser for The Moon update that was arriving soon to the server.
  • In the SMPEarth community discord, JoshA20 implied that the large number of given diamonds was not intentional.
