Augustus

Augustus St. Cloud ^[1] is a character played by Damien Haas, created in January 2018 for the video DAMIEN KNOWS DA WAE. Augustus is weeb, yelp reviewer ^[2] and works at Gamestop.^[3] He has an affinity for gross food, especially mayonnaise.

Personality and Appearance

Augustus is shown to think highly of himself, even when people around seem to be put off. He is a harsh critic and not opposed to coming off mean.

One of the most notable characteristics of Augustus is his distinctive voice. His speech is characterized by a consistent lisp and a distinctively nasal quality.

Augustus' character design underwent a couple changes throughout different videos. Initially, his presence was exclusively portrayed through his voice, with no visual representation. This changed in the video titled We Finally Played Uno (it broke us), where Augustus was visually portrayed with a black greasy wig and prominently showcased his "yelp review" mug.

In Jackbox Joke Boat, but in character Augustus debuted his now established outfit for the first time. It features a messy ponytail of long, dark brown hair, his thick black glasses, a purple lumberjack shirt layered over a graphic tee, along with black pants, solidifying the character's visual identity.

• Augustus St. Cloud appears to have been inspired by a character in "The Venture Bros" series, evident in their shared name, almost identical voice, and certain shared character traits, hinting at potential influence from the latter on Damien's creation
• Augustus had no prior knowledge of "Nintendogs" until The Chosen introduced him to the game.^[4]
• He is a major character in the latest Smosh series, Spud Hut.
