Scorpius is a planet mentioned only in Serious Sam 4.
Overview
Scorpius is the original homeworld of the Arachnoids, a primitive sentient race of scorpion-like creatures. Very little information is known about the planet. It's not known where Scorpius is located, although based on the planet's name, it's assumed it is located somewhere in the Scorpius constellation.
From what can be seen during a cutscene in Serious Sam 4, the planet appears to be a barren and harsh environment, similar to that of the dry, arid terrain of Mars. It has many mountains and jagged peaks dominating the landscape, some of which are extremely tall.[1]
Unlike Mars and Earth, the planet has an eerie, dark red atmosphere.[1]
History
When Tah-Um was woken by from dormancy by humanity, he sought to create a massive army to fight the humans, with the main purpose of wiping them all out. Mental went from one planet to another, searching for suitable races to coerce or manipulate into joining him. At some point, Tah-Um stumbled upon the planet Scorpius, and discovered the Arachnoids. He tempted the creatures living there into joining him and worshiping him as a messiah. They agreed, and a group of religious fanatics was founded, whom Mental himself offered his support.[2] They began wiping out any traces of intelligent civilzation on their planet, as well as destroy and/or utterly annihilate any traces of their culture and relics that belonged to their race in the name of their 'god'.[2]
The Arachnoids, being an During this brutal state of betrayal and confusion, a civil war erupts, and the Arachnoids begin fighting each other. In the conflict, the Arachnoids managed to bring down the High Council of Scorpius, and ruin thousands of years of Arachnoid culture.[2] When the faction began drafting young Arachnoids for Mental's army, the resistance saw an opportunity to sabotage Tah-Um's operations from the inside.

Scorpius is mentioned by Charlie to Sam when he asks her how she ended up on Earth. Charlie explains that Mental encouraged the Arachnoids to create a faction of religious fanatics. In doing so, they betrayed their own race in favor of worshiping Mental. Charlie expressed anger and disgust over the large-scale damage her people had caused on her home planet and the fact they betrayed their own people just to join Mental's army.[2]
