Chapter 4 (Fourth Tail), focuses on Kuroto and Senko going shopping together. This chapter offers a lighthearted look at how Senko, a fox demigod from another realm, navigates the modern human world.
Senko decides that she needs to stock up on ingredients to continue cooking proper meals for Kuroto, so she insists they go to the supermarket together. Kuroto is hesitant at first, worried that Senko’s appearance (with her fox ears and tail) might attract attention, but Senko reassures him that humans won’t notice her supernatural features. Unsure, Kuroto puts her in disguise just in case.
Once they arrive at the store, the experience is amusing, as Senko, who isn’t accustomed to modern conveniences, is amazed and fascinated by the vast array of products. Her childlike curiosity about everyday items creates several humorous moments. She inspects products like rice and vegetables, showing her focus on providing healthy meals for Kuroto, which reinforces her caring nature.
During the trip, Kuroto is initially a bit embarrassed, especially when Senko openly refers to her role of taking care of him, making them look like an odd couple to others around them. Despite this, he starts to enjoy the outing, appreciating Senko’s enthusiasm and genuine desire to make his life better.
