Chapter 1 is the first chapter of the Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san manga.
Summary
Chapter 1 (First Tail) introduces the main characters and sets up the basic premise of the series.
The story follows Kuroto Nakano, a 30-year-old salaryman who is exhausted and stressed from his overworked, monotonous life. He lives alone and faces the pressures of corporate life with little time to rest or take care of himself.
One day, Kuroto comes home to find Senko, an 800-year-old fox demigod (kitsune), waiting for him. Senko has been sent by the gods to help Kuroto recover from his fatigue and stress. Her goal is to pamper him with care, making sure he eats well, rests, and gets the affection he needs. She cooks, cleans, and comforts him, trying to restore balance in his life.
Despite his confusion and awkwardness around Senko at first, Kuroto gradually accepts her presence. The chapter emphasizes the contrast between Kuroto's stressful work life and the peaceful, nurturing environment Senko creates at home.
Plot
First Tail begins with Senko, Shiro, and Yozora, in the holy world discussing the matters of Nakano and his severe "Anxiety", in which then Senko requests to Spoil and take of him. Nakano seems working his everyday 9-5 where everyone but mainly Mitaka, heavily depends on him, making him more tired and depressed. After catching the last train home he walks home and as soon as he walks in he is introduced to Senko complimenting him and prepares him rice for dinner. Confused and worried about possible misunderstandings of thinking that people think that she was kidnapped or being forced to cosplay by him, he instantly kicks her out and blames it on lack of rest and hallucinations before getting jump-scared by Senko phasing through the door. Nakano begins to freak out believing she a ghost and how she passed through the door. Senko questions if he will eat her dinner which makes Nakano yell at her for getting off-topic which makes Senko cry and says how much work she put into them, gaslighting him into eating it, feeling bad for her. He thanks Senko for the food and is taken away by the taste along with enjoying the company of Senko being with him before immediately snapping back to reality and asking Senko who she is. Senko introduces herself as an 800-year-old divine messenger fox. Confused, Nakano asks why she's here in which she says that she cannot bear to see him so worn out and wants to take care of him. Appreciative but still confused he ask why she would go that far for someone like him. She hides her real reason for being in debt to him and his family and instead states that he is just the type of man that she prefers. Confused and angry he asks why that reason before stating that gods are carefree. Senko states that it's a whim of the god and that he needs to not hold back and let her spoil him. In which he respond to the vague question by asking to touch her tail. Scared and surprised at first she then reluctantly and embarrassed let him touch her tail, giving him special permission to do so. He complicates and urges to touch it asking again if it's ok. Annoyed she says to just get on with it, to which he bear hugs her tail embracing its softness and warmth becoming engrossed and later on addicted to it. Senko edging for dear life while he plays with her tail. After finishing she asked if he was satisfied, being worn out and exhausted from all the tail-touching; he notices and apologizes for getting carried away comparing her tail to petting his parent's cat, she responds by saying it was no trouble. Nakano states the help that Senko has done and asks if he could do anything in return. Senko responds by saying that seeing him happy is all she needs before Nakano responds by saying that he should take care of her; calling her a little girl, in which she reminds him that she is his elder. Nakano states that if it keeps up he'll be no good until Senko reassures him that he's already doing the best he can, stating that she does all of this cause she wants to and no amount of good deeds he does will be enough before saying not to worry and let her pamper him requesting him to rest on her lap. Nakano rests on her lap relieving some of his stress (darkness). After some time he wakes up and thanks her for everything, Senko responds by saying to expect more pampering in the future before Nakano asks to have another round with her tail. Senko gets angry and flustered and states its once a day only.
