Zoe was seen and mentioned when Jason Grace, Piper McLean, and Leo Valdez visit Midas's mansion in Omaha, Nebraska. It turns out that Midas never really gave up the magic touch, he claimed that Zoe was so annoying that he ended up turning her into gold again and keeping her that way. Her statue was described as looking shocked, as if she were thinking, “Dad!”
When Jason summoned a thunderstorm above the mansion, he tore the ceiling off with a lightning bolt and Zoe, along with the rest of her father's victims, return to human form. It's possible that she helped them kill him since he turned her into gold even though Midas was her own father. She is never mentioned again afterwards, but she is possibly still alive somewhere in the world.
Trivia:
- She is probably Demeter's daughter, because her brother Lityerses mentions Demeter being his parent in The Dark Prophecy.
- According to Lityerses, she talked a lot. It's also said so by her father that she was so, since he said “Exactly!” once Lityerses said it.
- Although she is related to Midas, it is said the portion of story where she turns into gold was only told in the book King Midas and the Golden Touch and was written by Nathaniel Hawrthone and released in 1999. This therefore means the myth of Zoe can't be trased back to original Greek Mythology.
