Pinkies

Pinkies (ピンキー, Pinkī)^? are fairy-like creatures that appear in Yes! Pretty Cure 5. There are 55 Pinkies in total, but not all of them were shown in the series.

Pinkies are needed to power up the Dream Collet, which is why both the Cures and Nightmare wanted to catch them. Without all 55 Pinkies, the Dream Collet cannot work.

Appearance

Pinkies are small creatures that vary in appearance. They are sorted into five groups, with each group being associated with a particular Cure:

• Nozomi catches Pinkies from the Animal group, which have round pink marks.
• Rin catches Pinkies from the Bird group, which have red triangle marks.
• Urara catches Pinkies from the Sea group, which have yellow heart marks.
• Komachi catches Pinkies from the Mystery group, which have green square marks.
• Karen catches Pinkies from the Plant group, which have blue star marks.

Each Pinky also has a special talent. For example, Kuriakuman's talent is bringing customers into shops^YPC510. The Pinkies sometimes help out Pretty Cure using their talents, like how Kuriakuman copied fliers to advertise Natts House.

Catching

Catching Pinkies requires the use of a Pinky Catch, and help from Coco. First, Coco takes a musical instrument from the Pinky Catch and plays it. The Cure then slowly waves her arm with the Pinky Catch, to draw the Pinky closer until it goes in. After pressing a button on the Catch, the Pinky is successfully caught. Each Pinky Catch can only hold one Pinky at a time, so Pinkies need to be transferred inside of the Dream Collet to keep the Catch free for another Pinky when needed.

Each Cure's Pinky Catch uses a unique instrument:

• Nozomi: Bell
• Rin: Trumpet
• Urara: Harp
• Komachi: Flute
• Karen: Violin

Trivia

• In the movie, Shadow couldn't use the Dream Collet because Urara still had a Pinky (Byukkin) in her Pinky Catch.
• The same symbols associated with the Cures (a triangle for Cure Rouge, a heart for Cure Lemonade, a square for Cure Mint, and a star for Cure Aqua) also appear on the Symphony Set and Dream Torch toys. They appear as small markings on the back, to show where each part is attached to the Dream Torch.
