Protean (Japanese: へんげんじざい, Hepburn: Hengen Jizai) is a Hidden Ability introduced in Generation VI, identical to Libero. Four Pokémon have this Ability.
Effect

| Generation IX | Changes the Pokémon's type to the type of the move it's about to use. This works only once each time the Pokémon enters battle. |
The Pokémon's type will change into that of whatever move it uses and can receive STAB accordingly. From Generation IX onwards, this only works once per battle.
