Panicking is a status effect in the Pikmin series. It first appears in Pikmin 2 and returns in Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 4. Various events can result in Pikmin panicking, such as being on fire or poisoned, in which case they run around uncontrollably and abandon any orders assigned to them by a leader. Pikmin that are panicking are more likely to run into a hazard. By blowing their whistle at a Pikmin, a leader can have it recover from a state of panic.
Some enemies that can cause panic are:
- Mitites
- Emperor Bulblax
- Sovereign Bulblax
- Vehemoth Phosbat
- Toady Bloyster
- Sputtlefish
- Smoky Progg
- Ancient Sirehound
While Antenna Beetles and Adult Bulbmin do not directly cause panic, any Pikmin following them when killed will panic.
