Bulbie is Captain Olimar's pet in the Pikmin series. He is first mentioned in Pikmin, and is described as somewhat resembling a Bulborb in Pikmin 2. It is said from the daily emails from home that he got skinny after Olimar's son and Olimar's wife forgot to feed him, then he ate all the Pikpik Carrots. Olimar's son also said that Olimar's Wife threatened to send Bulbie away to a circus. In Pikmin 4, Olimar mentions Bulbie indirectly in his notes on the Plunder Palace, stating that the Breadbugs remind him of "the dog" stealing his food. It is likely that Bulbie is the Hocotatian form of a pet dog. Not much else is known about Bulbie.
Pikmin 4 introduces Oatchi, a rescue pup for the Rescue Corps. Due to differences in appearance, it’s unclear if Bulbie is of the same species & a different breed or the two are simply unrelated animals that are both kept as pets.
