Bernard is the pilot of the S.S. Shepherd at the Rescue Command Post in Pikmin 4. He appears to be similar to Alph in shape.
Bernard, the only member of the Rescue Corps, was truly discovered as a leafling. Specifically, he is a purple leafling, defying the usual norms. Bernard is consistently the third leafling to be healed after a Dandori Battle.
He has a habit of enunciating random words in his sentences, making him sound sarcastic.

- While Bernard is obviously not Alph, he was believed to be when the silhouette of him was first seen, as they look remarkably similar.
