Zig (Japanese: ジグ) is a character in Phantasy Star Online 2.
History
Zig first meets the the protagonist in Episode 1, Chapter 4: Broken Cosmogenic Arms. Zig tells them that he used to be a master swordsmith but lost his passion to make weapons after the intense battles with the Falspawn has died down. He asks the protagonist to bring him something that could ignite his passion once more if they come across something that can do so. Sometime later, the protagonist shows a weapon fragment that they found earlier in the Tundra on Naverius and Zig's passion starts to fire up after seeing the fragment. He tells them that one part isn't enough and that he needs two more parts to be able to restore the weapon. After finding the parts on Lillipa and Amduskia, the protagonist gives them to Zig, who thanks them, and runs off to his workshop to restore the weapon. However, Zig tells the protagonist that the weapon has been stolen during the Falspawn attack and apologizes to them. He says that he managed to repair the weapon to one piece but felt that something dangerous is coming the closer he got to restoring it.
During Episode 2, the protagonist asks Zig if he knows about Clarissa to which Zig responds that the weapon is entrusted to Klariskrays, the number five of the Council of Six. Zig denies that the weapon he was asked earlier to restore is the same Clarissa but also mentions that the Clarissa is unique as only the chosen wielders can see its true power.
During Episode 3, Matoi goes to Zig, wondering if something is wrong with Clarissa, and Zig responds that he doesn't see anything although he has the feeling that the Cosmogenic Arm lost some of its power. Regius joins the conversation and states that it's probably because Xion's power is gone which causes all Cosmogenic Arms to lose their abilities. Regius then asks Zig to forge new Cosmogenic Arms since he received permission from Xiao and Zig asks if Matoi wants him to fix Clarissa but Matoi declines his request, saying that she and Clarissa will stick together. Sometime later, Zig is talking with Regius about the past and Alma. After a moment of silence, Zig tells Regius about his new Cosmogenic Arm, called Blade of Genesis, to which Regius says that it's a gloomy name. Zig agrees but also tells him that it's a name he needs to shoulder, saying that if he ends life, he needs to recreate it as well.

Shop
Zig is located at the Monument Square in the Shopping Plaza. Aside from regular talking to him, Zig also has a shop where a Creator's Emblem can be exchanged for a Weapon Camo of the Cosmogenic Arms.

Ash and Afin visit Zig's workshop when he is throwing people out of his shop. Thinking the same people are entering, he wonders if they are eager for a beating but turns around to see it isn't them. Ash asks if he is Zig and if so, he wants him to have a look at something. He responds that youngsters never learn and that he doesn't do work anymore but he then sees the weapon Ash brought. Never seen such weapon before, he grabs it and comments it has a weird construction while Ash told he found it on Naverius. Zig isn't able to tell them anything about the weapon but says he will repair the weapon to its original state to uncover the truth.[1]
While Themis is under attack by Falspawn, Zig continues to work on the weapon and tells the people who are banging on his door to leave him behind. Almost finished, he feels a presence nearby but he doesn't see anyone until he is attacked by Gettemhult. After the battle is over, Ash and Afin decide to check on him and see he is broken in half when they arrive. He tells them that he is ashamed of himself to let that happen to them and that the weapon got taken by someone from ARKS when he was struck down. A car arrives and Zig is taken by them to get repaired.[2] Regius mentions that Zig made his new Cosmogenic Arm, Blade of Genesis, to replace his World's End.[3]
