Xion (Japanese: シオン) is an omniscient being in Phantasy Star Online 2.
Personality
Xion is quite intellectual and analytical, fitting her omniscient status. She is rather expressionless and taciturn due to her omniscience allowing her to know and calculate everything, which grants her few joys and surprises in life.
History
Xion is a planet born with an intelligence powerful enough to calculate everything within the universe, thus becoming the incarnation of knowledge itself.
At its own request, the planet Xion was transformed by the Photoners into the core of the Oracle Mothership, and assumes a role similar to a central computer system.
The Photoners themselves found fascination toward Xion, and in their quest for more power and knowledge, tried (and failed) countless amounts of times to replicate her. Some of these failed replicas would later shape the history of the universes forever, with one of them hearkening the decline of the Photoner's era.
In Episode 1, Xion appears before the protagonist and grants them tools and powers that allows the protagonist to travel back in time, such as the Matter Board.
In Episode 2, Luther attempts to forcefully merge with Xion in a quest for omniscience. But Xion manages to thwart Luther's plan with the help of the protagonist and Matoi. Ultimately, Xion sacrifices herself and Luther is forever deprived of his omniscience. This episode also debuted the mysterious self-proclaimed "younger brother" of Xion, Xiao.
In Episode 3, the remnants of her existence continue to remain dormant within the Clarissa's core. During the battle between the Profound Darkness and the protagonist, Persona intervenes and calls upon Xion's powers within the Clarissa to absorb the corrupted photons from both the protagonist and Matoi, purifying and restoring the latter while transforming Persona into the Profound Darkness. In the end, Xion and Persona bids farewell to the protagonist and Matoi before she finally departs from existence.
In Episode 4, it's revealed that Mother is a near-perfect clone of Xion that was discarded by the Photoners due to her possessing emotions and conscience.
In Episode 5, the wormhole where the otherworld of Omega resides is located on Xion's original coordinate. The episode also revealed that the appearance Xion took in the first two episodes were of the Photoner Clarissa, who would later become the Cosmogenic Arm Clarissa the White. Apparently, Xion took her appearance because she was fond of the scientist.
In Episode 6, it was revealed that the planet Amduskia was in fact an amalgamation of two imperfect Xion clones.
Powers and abilities
Xion is an omniscient being, and as such possesses infinite stores of knowledge. She is considered the keeper of the Akashic records and possesses intelligence powerful enough to allow her to calculate everything within the universe.
Xion's infinite knowledge allows her to perform feats such as circumventing spacetime and granting others the power to also do so.

Trivia
- The planet, Xion, is composed entirely of a living ocean that spent its entire "life" calculating all that exists.
