A Partner Card (Japanese: パートナーカード) is a supportive mechanic in Phantasy Star Online 2 that allows a user to summon a non-playable character (NPC) to assist them during a mission as an ally. Partner Cards can be obtained via various means, the most common of which is to assist an NPC with a particular task (usually through the completion of Story Quests or Client Orders).
A player character can create and edit a Friend Avatar, called a Friend Partner (Japanese: フレンドパートナー) in the Japanese version, of their own character via the Visiphone that can be summoned by friends or random people to participate in various quests. The Friend Avatar will act as an NPC and behave similarly to an NPC Partner based on a set of parameters.
The Auxiliary, known as a Support Partner (Japanese: サポートパートナー) in the Japanese version, behaves similarly to an NPC Partner but acts as a support companion to its master that grows as it gains experience.
Usage
NPC Partners, henceforth referred to simply as a Partner, can be summoned to join the player character during certain applicable quests. This can be done by accessing the Partner Terminal on the Gateway Ship located at the side of the ship. It is represented by a stylized yellow icon that resembles the torso of a person.
The player character can select a Partner from a list and summon them, dismiss them if already summoned, or view their Partner Card stats.
Once a Partner Card has been obtained, that Partner can be summoned by all characters on the user's account.
Features
Class
Partners have a main class and a subclass. Classes allow Partners to equip relevant gear, i.e. a Force will usually wield a rod, a Ranger wields an assault rifle or a launcher, etc.
Personality
The personality of a Partner is descriptive and does not influence their combat ability in any capacity. It is purely a cosmetic feature.

Attributes
Attributes are characteristics that change a Partner's approach to combat. The amount of activity they exhibit in battle as well as their accuracy against certain targets is affected based on the following attributes:
- Early Bird: Increased activity/accuracy during morning hours
- Night Owl: Increased activity/accuracy during evening hours
- Sun Lover: Increased activity/accuracy during fine weather
- Cloud Lover: Increased activity/accuracy during non-sunny weather
- Big Game Hunter: Increased activity/accuracy when fighting boss monsters
- Small Game Hunter: Increased activity/accuracy when fighting minions and mobs
- Underdog Lover: Increased activity/accuracy when the HP of the player character that summoned the Partner is low
- Slow Starter: Increased activity/accuracy after defeating a number of enemies
- Lonely Soul: Increased activity/accuracy when there are two or more characters near the player character
- Hot and Cold Personality: Increased activity/accuracy as Partner friendship improves
- Wild Hunter: Increased activity/accuracy when fighting Sylvants
- Falspawn Hunter: Increased activity/accuracy when fighting Falspawn
- Mech Hunter: Increased activity/accuracy when fighting Automata
- Draconian Hunter: Increased activity/accuracy when fighting Draconians
- Oceanid Hunter: Increased activity/accuracy when fighting Oceanids
- Nightfaller Hunter: Increased activity/accuracy when fighting Nightfallers
- Phantasm Hunter: Increased activity/accuracy when fighting Phantasms
Titles
A Partner's title influences their skill and/or item usage. The complete list of titles can be found below:
- Resuscitation: Has a chance of reviving the player character only once per quest upon the player's incapacitation
- Ready for War: Has a chance of casting Shifta in preparation for battle
- Full Defense: Has a chance of casting Deband in preparation for battle
- Rage: Will cast Shifta and Deband when a party member is incapacitated
- Recovery and Support: Has a rare chance of reviving an incapacitated party mate only once per quest
- Condition Master: Has a chance of inflicting a status effect upon a target if the attack hits
- Human Lover: Has a chance of casting Shifta and Deband when there is a human in the party
- CAST Lover: Has a chance of casting Shifta and Deband when there is a CAST in the party
- Newman Lover: Has a chance of casting Shifta and Deband when there is a newman in the party
- Deuman Lover: Has a chance of casting Shifta and Deband when there is a deuman in the party
- Guy Chaser: Has a chance of casting Shifta and Deband when there is a male character in the party
- Skirt Chaser: Has a chance of casting Shifta and Deband when there is a female character in the party
Comments
The comment section is a space on the Partner Card that allows the NPC to exhibit their unique personality to full effect much like a personal ARKS ID card. This feature is purely cosmetic.
