- "What will it take to grab this monster by the throat and drag him back to hell?"
- —Stacker Pentecost[3]
Kaiceph[2][note 1] is the third Kaiju to attack humanity.[3]
History
The third attack
Kaiceph emerges from the Breach June 1, 2014 and attacks Cabo San Lucas.[4] The military's attempts to lure the creature away from the city fail.
They are forced to attack the Kaiju with a nuclear strike that kills it at the expense of half the city's inhabitable areas.[5]
Aftermath
On September 15, 2014, during the Seoul Conference, Kaiceph is shown on the projector during Stacker Pentecost's speech to expose the imminent risk that the Kaiju pose.[2]
Trivia
- Initially, Travis Beacham states that Hammerjaw attacked Cabo.[6] He later amends his assertion when he is reminded of Kaiceph's mentioned attack in Tales From Year Zero.[4]
- The opening of Pacific Rim leads one to believe that Kaiceph is the Kaiju whose remains are being transported on an aircraft carrier, however, Travis Beacham states that this Kaiju was never identified as Kaiceph.[7]
