The Arrest!
Following the defeat of the Crystal King, Hounddog McBrag was sitting in his office one day as he began to reflect on his career, noting the many successes he has had and the one and only failure he has ever suffered: his failure to capture any of the Ninja when they were branded criminals. Determined not to even let one failure stain his professional reputation, McBrag set out with his plan to capture even one of the Ninja to hold for even a single hour. After rounding his deputies, McBrag revealed that he had taken possession of Christofern, Garmadon's beloved plant, and sent a letter to the Ninja informing them of his possession, much to the horror of his subordinates. McBrag then revealed that he had prepared for their arrival with a series of mechs commissioned from Cyrus Borg that had been equipped with Vengestone armor to shield against Elemental Powers.
Some time later, an enraged Garmadon and Lloyd set out to locate the warehouse address mentioned in the letter, intent on retrieving Christofern. Upon their arrival, Garmadon tore apart the warehouse doors, demanding the return of Christofern as the father and son encountered McBrag and his deputies, all suited in their vengestone mechs. Delighted by their arrival, McBrag declared he would be detaining the pair for resisting arrest, though Lloyd brushed off the threat, warning McBrag that his mechs would not protect him should a fight break out. Laughing, McBrag revealed that the mechs were armored with vengestone, and thus immune to Elemental Powers before firing its weapons at Lloyd. Unimpressed, Garmadon declared that vengetone was no match for his Oni form as he shapeshifted and began to quickly destroy the officers' vengestone mechs.
After destroying several of the mechs, Garmadon implored his son to take on Oni form as well and to join him in battle. Lloyd reminded Garmadon that the latter knew good from evil by now and reminded him not to throw away his new chance at life, especially since he had just proven himself by helping to save Ninjago City from the Overlord. Nevertheless, Lloyd agreed to take on his own Oni form if it meant stopping McBrag that much faster. By using their Oni forms, father and son made quick work of the officers' vengestone mechs, after which Garmadon demanded to be reunited with Christofern, a request McBrag quickly complied with.
Once the dust had settled, McBrag admitted that he only wanted to protect his professional reputation, leading Lloyd to reluctantly agree to allow McBrag to "arrest" him by "locking him up" in the restroom for a minute, much to McBrag's delight.

Trivia
- This is the third Ninjago Magazine to feature one of the Dragon forms suits of the ninja. The previous being Water Dragon! and Ninja vs Ninja!.
- This is the first magazine to be released featuring events after the final season.
- This was the first magazine to be released in 2023 in Germany, as the previous issues are released later in other countries.

- The comic has two editions: in the first one, Garmadon's Oni Form is incorrectly depicted as the Crystal King with wings and a different coloured headpiece. The second one, released later in some Germany-exclusive magazines, has more show-accurate version.
Cultural reference
- The ransom letter mentions AA-23, which is similar to the detention block Leia Organa was detained on the Death Star in Star Wars: A New Hope.
Errors
- Christofern is told to still be planted in a pot McBrag managed to steal from Garmadon, while it was shown at the end of "Roots" planted on top of a mountain by Garmadon himself.
- However, it is most likely this took place before Garmadon planted him.
- Lloyd used once again his Oni Form, while he said never to use it.
- He was also depicted in his minifigure appearance, instead of show accurate.
