Plot
On their way back to Two Moon Village, Garmadon's hunting party sing for him as he eats some drumsticks, only for them to end up stopping. As Garmadon questions them, Min points out that the village is under attack before charging towards it, concerned for her mother. Upon entering the burning village, Min tries to look around, only to be grabbed by Kenzo before any of the Red Crows spot her. As Kenzo plans to get her and himself out of the village, Min refuses and rushes to find her mother. Killow, along with Chopper Maroon and Francis are threatening Saeko, who knocks out Francis before Min enters their house, only to be grabbed by Killow, but Garmadon stops him before he could do anything to her. Killow, frightened at Garmadon's presence, tries to explain the situation, only for Chopper Maroon to speak up and say they no longer serve him, and Garmadon immediately threw them both out.
Upon emerging from the house, members of the Red Crows, including Ultra Violet, look on in shock to see their former lord glaring at them before he demands Ultra Violet to explain. She tells him after his fall from power, the Sons of Garmadon became mere thugs, and tried to rob banks and cause chaos, only to be grabbed by the Ninja, and sent to Kryptarium Prison, where they waited for him, but he never came for them. Then when they saw Gayle Gossip reporting Garmadon's involvement in defeating the Oni, they all felt forsaken before causing a riot, which started when Killow threw Captain Soto's lunch at the TV before they were broken out by Lord Mogra.
At this point, Garmadon interrupted Ultra Violet's story with a confused, "Who?" in response to the name "Mogra." A few seconds later, Garmadon would find himself lying on his back after a vicious attack by the aptly named warlord, the latter laughing heartily with a wide grin as he remarked to himself about how long he had wanted to strike Garmadon. Addressing his attacker as "the usurper," Garmadon noted that Mogra wore his helmet, to which the usurper confirmed before ordering Ultra Violet to resume loading a wagon with barrels of Two Moon Tea. Sneering, Garmadon ordered Ultra Violet to belay that order and to look for his drumstick instead, much to Mogra's frustration and shock as Ultra Violet and several other bikers began carrying out Garmadon's orders. Amused by the lingering loyalty of his former followers, Garmadon turned his attention back to Mogra in mockery, remarking how regardless of who else they serve or under what name they ride under, the Sons of Garmadon would forever be loyal to him, a point Mogra conceded as truth. Nevertheless, Mogra declared although he had attempted so far to emulate the Dark Lord in many ways, it was not enough. He would now aim to crush Garmadon in front of everyone in the burning village to bring an end, once and for all, to the legend of Garmadon and allow his name to name to finally reign supreme. Dismissing the warlord's challenge, Garmadon grinned and replied that he had already forgotten the warlord's name.
The battle that followed was fierce, with Garmadon's katana clashing against Mogra's axe as both combatants battled it out in a duel for power and glory. As they fought, the Two Moon Village Commandos and the village elders regrouped with Min and Saeko, urging them all to escape the village while the Red Crows were distracted by the ongoing duel. When Min protested that they couldn't leave Garmadon behind, Renzo sadly told the girl to just look at him and his opponent, who were now fiercely fighting in the center of the village amidst a backdrop of flames. Renzo lamented that they had only traded one monster for another, and regardless of who would win, they would all suffer terribly. Saeko agreed with the elder's words, placing a hand on her daughter's shoulder and stated that they should never have gotten involved with such beings in the first place. In response, Min turned towards her mother with a sad look, quietly murmuring that Garmadon had saved them so many times.
At this point, Garmadon and Mogra had pushed one another nearly to their limits, with both combatants now struggling to catch their breath. Between gasps of air, Mogra grumbled that as much as he hated to admit it, it seemed as though he and Garmadon were an even match. With a grin, Garmadon replied, "Not quite," grabbing and downing a nearby barrel of Two Moon Tea to reinvigorate himself and unleash his Oni form, cackling maniacally as he blasted Mogra away with a powerful beam of Destruction, kicking up massive clouds of dust. Satisfied with his enemy's apparent death, Garmadon declared victory. Unfortunately, this declaration would shortly reveal itself as having been premature - when the dust cleared, Mogra still stood tall, now glowing with radiant light as he revealed his powers too were amplified by Two Moon Tea, much to Garmadon's shock. Proclaiming himself Garmadon's superior, Mogra leapt into the air to avoid Garmadon's next blast of Destruction before flying into the Oni at top speed, pounding him into the ground with enough force to shatter the land itself. Now grappling his opponent, Mogra flew higher and higher into the air as Garmadon screamed for the warlord to let him go.
In the outskirts of Two Moon Village, the group of villagers were escaping on horseback as Min turned to see Mogra flying Garmadon into the air. "Garmadon's losing!" she screamed, begging her fellow villagers to turn around and help him, though Renzo immediately shot down her idea, declaring "Absolutely not, we just got out of there!" As Min stopped her steed, her alarmed mother shouted at her not to even think about going back for Garmadon. "Garmadon's no hero. He's not worth risking our lives!" she shouted. In spite of her mother's protests, Min noted that although it was true that Garmadon was no hero, he still saved them from bears and carried Saeko back to the village after her leg injury. And with that, Min turned her steed around and charged back towards Two Moon Village, declaring that she could not simply abandon Garmadon to his fate, leaving Saeko behind to call out for her daughter in anguish.
In the skies above Two Moon Village, Mogra demanded to know if Garmadon remembered him, a question the Dark Lord denied. Annoyed, Mogra declared himself as the sins of the past, having returned to haunt Garmadon once more. At this moment, Garmadon paused, hesitating in surprise and fear as he recognized Mogra's voice. "You're dead..." he muttered with wide eyes. "So, you do remember. Now burn." replied the warlord as he breathed white hot flames onto Garmadon, sending the Dark Lord plummeting far, far down to the ground below.
