Picture Segment Description
SCENE 1 Elmo, Baby Bear, and Telly plan to spend today playing together, for they are (as they say) "The Three Friends - hurrah!" They check the list of everything they intend to do, which includes running, climbing, and other physical activities. They start doing the first thing on the list, "running, yelling and bouncing," when Elmo bumps his arm and screams in pain, startling the other two who look with concern.

SCENE 2 At the Fix-It Shop, Maria puts a bandage on Elmo's boo-boo as Baby Bear and Telly explain what happened. Maria tells Elmo that his boo-boo isn't too bad, and he happily realizes it doesn't hurt to move his arms. Maria does warn Elmo to be careful and not to bump his boo-boo into anything.

Baby Bear and Telly make sure that Elmo's boo-boo remains untouched by acting like his bodyguards as they pass Hooper's Store, telling Mr. Handford to back off.

SCENE 3 The Three Friends go over the list and notice that the next item is climbing the jungle gym while saying the alphabet. Elmo wants to go, but the other two don't want to risk putting him in further danger after he got his boo-boo (which doesn't even hurt anymore). They won't even let him sing "The Alphabet Song" because when he reaches the letter E, he might laugh so hard that he'll fall down and get hurt. Suddenly, Telly gets an idea: he rushes off and fetches some earmuffs and cotton to put over Elmo's ears so he won't hear them sing the alphabet.

SCENE 4 The Three Friends reach Hooper's for lunch. Telly and Baby Bear think their day is going great so far, but Elmo can't say the same for himself. Elmo orders a tuna fish sandwich and a glass of milk, but Telly and Baby Bear insist that he not move his arms for fear of hitting his boo-boo again and consume his lunch for him, thinking they're doing him a favor. This makes Elmo so furious that he writhes back and forth as he lets out his anger, which causes his bandage to fall off. Maria checks on him, and they all confirm that his friends did a good job of protecting him. Elmo, now ready to play, tags Telly and runs off.
