Picture Segment Description
SCENE 1 Gordon notices an incoming rainfall, while Forgetful Jones tries to remember what he was supposed to get when the rain hits. He thinks he needs his lawnmower to cut the newly-refreshed grass, then a bucket to deflood the basement if the stream behind the ranch overflows. He finally realizes he needs an umbrella to stay dry, but remains standing in the rain anyhow - he's forgotten where his umbrella is.
Cartoon An alligator and an elephant chat about how to remember their names.

SCENE 2 The quick shower has already passed, but Forgetful still strolls around using his umbrella. Gordon tells him to observe the weather and Forgetful realizes he must now grab his lawnmower and start cutting the grass.

SCENE 3 Oscar is annoyed by Gladys the Cow jogging by his trash can, especially the sound of her cowbell. He distracts her and removes the clapper before she heads off. She realizes her bell is no longer making sounds and parses together that Oscar may be responsible. Oscar begins feeling guilty for stealing something and returns it. She decides that instead of yelling at him, the best payback would be to continue jogging around his can and proceeds to do so. Oscar produces an even larger bell to drown out the noise: "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!"

When the sandwich arrives, Mr. Johnson complains that it doesn't match the picture on the menu -- it doesn't have potato chips, a pickle or an olive.

SCENE 4 Maria and Big Bird notice Mr. Hooper looking a little down today. He admits that he misses his family, whom he hasn't seen in a long while. Big Bird offers to dress up as his brother and play pinochle with him. Mr. Hooper gently suggests that's not quite the same but appreciates the thought and concern. His day is made when his four-year old grand-niece phones him all by herself. He greets her with a Yiddish endearment ("Meyn kleiner shayna ketzeleh," which he translates as "my small little kitten," though "shayna" translates to "beautiful"). He proceeds to show his customers some pictures of her, beaming with pride.
