Bob thinks that Big Bird has packed too much in his wagon, so he suggests that Big Bird plan to do one thing per day. Big Bird already knows what he’ll do today: clean up the mess he just made.

SCENE 4 Luis encounters Oscar with a hatchet, attempting to chop down the tree in front of the Fix-it Shop. Luis explains the usefulness of trees, but Oscar isn't convinced, so Luis uses a different approach. He agrees with Oscar that it should be chopped down, since the birds in the tree wake him up in the morning, the leaves fall down and have to be raked away in the autumn, and the winter wind makes a spooky noise as it blows through the tree. Luis tries to chop it himself, but Oscar stops him, suddenly protective of the tree.
