Coward is a creature class. Cowards are people who lack courage in facing danger, difficulty, opposition, pain, etc.; timid or easily intimidated persons.
Description
The first creature to be printed with this type was Craven Hulk from Kaldheim. Before this, the type was not used in any type line – not even on tokens. Changelings, notably, always counted as Cowards.
The subtype had been only mentioned on three cards before receiving a creature with the type printed on it (Boldwyr Intimidator (Future Sight), and Pyrophobia and Reprobation from Modern Horizons). Unfinity added Scared Stiff, while Duskmourn: House of Horror added the type to Norin.
Card interacting with Cowards
- Boldwyr Intimidator, Kargan Intimidator and Gornog, the Red Reaper can change creatures into Cowards and disallow Cowards to block Warriors.
- Pyrophobia disallows Cowards to block in general.
- Reprobation can change creatures into Cowards with base power and toughness 0/1.
- Coward (Doctor Who) is a sorcery that can change creatures into Cowards.[1]
Notable cowards
- Norin was a notable coward despite not having the type on his original card.[2][3][4][5]
- He had gained the type on his second card by the time he traveled to Duskmourn.
