The TS-001 is a Regular Army vehicle introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Information

The TS-001, short form for Tandem Slug, is a pair of Slugs connected one behind the other. It is composed of a paired combination of three individual tanks: the Slug Puncher, Type-Gunner, and Knight Tank. When paired, the front tank acts as the main force and defense while the rear tank provides backup. The TS-001 is developed as the tactical tank for the new generation. MS-Heart usually operates the TS-001, although some individual tanks are operated by a generic AI.

	Slug Puncher: The Slug Puncher focuses in close-range combat. It attacks by pounding the ground with its large fist. When the enemy is far away, it can close the distance by delivering a punch at fast speeds. The individual Slug Puncher also generates short shock waves from its fists.
	Type-Gunner: This Slug focuses on long-range combat. Its standard attack is shooting energy beams from its rifle. The Slug's frontal cannon fires piercing shots.
	Knight Tank: This Slug focuses on close-range defense. It attacks by piercing anything with its drill. The Slug's shield generates a barrier for added protection.

Trivia

• The Type-Gunner is a reference to a scrapped concept of a Metal Slug spin-off based on humanoid SV-001's. One of these Slugs even has a red coloration and holds a similar rifle.
• The name "Tandem Slug" is taken from the game's sprite files. It is only referred to as the TS-001 in game.
