The Pirates are minor enemies introduced in Metal Slug 4.
Information
The Pirates were originally hired by the Amadeus Syndicate to hijack a cargo ship traveling through the sea presumably to bring it back to the syndicate for resources. They were also helped by the Rebel Infantry to take out bigger threats inside the boat.
In Metal Slug Attack, the pirates are led by Aileen. Despite their sloppy swordsmanship, they are capable of taking down large threats by themselves.
Soldiers
General Pirates

Pirate Soldier: The most common type of pirate. They use cutlasses to attack, occasionally throwing them at the player. In the second part of the mission they appear in Hammer-Yangs. |
| Ghost Variant: A pirate who lurks at the sea attacking anyone he sees. Can perform somersault attacks. Appears in Metal Slug Attack. | |
| Mirage Variant: Pirates who are stuck at the bottom of the ocean. They attack haphazardly as if they're trying to escape from something. They are an improved Ghost Variant. Appears in Metal Slug Attack. | |

Pirate Assault Soldier: This variety of pirate is armed with a light sword. They attack by running back and forth, slashing at the player if they get in range. |

Pistol Pirate Assault Soldier: These swordsmen not only have the standard light sword, but are also armed with a pistol. They are only seen a few times. |
Aileen's Pirates
Members
Alongside the general pirate crew members, Aileen's pirates consist of the following members:

Aileen: The captain of her pirate crew. An alcoholic even in battle. |

Wendy: Aileen's primary mechanic. She uses a customized kendama as a weapon. |

Female Pirates: Unnamed female members of Aileen's crew. They fight in Shark Armors, Slug Armors customized by Wendy. |

Trivia
- Since they have "traditional" pirate swords, bandannas, flintlock pistols and skull emblems on their shirts it is safe to assume they are based on "traditional" European-Caribbean pirates.
- The Pirates are sprite edits of the Arabian Infantry.
