The Shotgun is a secondary weapon in the Metal Slug series. It is represented by the icon .
Information
The 12-gauge rounds filled with metallic BB pellets are highly effective at point blank range, although the BB's lose their velocity after traveling a short distance and become harmless after a while. Despite its limited ammo, it is very powerful, able to obliterate hordes of infantry with a single shot and even destroy vehicles easily with just a few. The upgraded version has more range, at the cost of even less ammo.
Ammunition
A Shotgun contains 30 ammo from Metal Slug to Metal Slug 5, while the Big Shotgun contains 15 ammo.
