Crewman Pointer was a human assigned to the security division of the Enterprise.
In 2151, he and Crewman Daniels were assigned to guard a captured Hipon in sickbay. When it woke up and attempted to telepathically communicate with them, it temporarily drove them insane. Pointer was found by Captain Jonathan Archer curled in a fetal position. (ENT novel: By the Book)
