
Iraq is a region in the Middle East on Earth. Located between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, Iraq was the origin of much of early Human civilization, and was the location of the ancient city of Baghdad.

Iraq possessed a long and tumultuous history. In the Middle Ages, it was the center of the Islamic Empire, one of the most advanced civilizations on the planet, and in the early 21st century, it was the site of the controversial Iraq War.
