2374 was, on Earth's calendar, the 75th year of the 24th century, and the sixth year of the 2370s decade. Besides this time period's Human dates, in stardates this era begins with stardate 2374.0[2] in some systems of dating, and runs from stardate 51000 to 51999 in others.[1]
Events
- Although 2374 is one year past the original divergence event that created the First Splinter timeline in 2373, most all of the events between the Splintered realities and the primary timeline seem to be able to be taken as identical at this point.
Politics
Conflicts
- The Dominion War, begun in 2373, continues on into a second year.[3]
- A Changeling spy acquires the codes to bring down the minefield blocking the Bajoran wormhole, but her efforts to bring those codes to Terok Nor are sabotaged by the Beta XII-A entity[4]
- Federation and Klingon forces, with the help of the Prophets, retake Deep Space 9.[5]
Romulan politics
- Romulan emperor Shiarkiek is murdered; Ambassador Spock investigates the murder secretly, and Elim Garak and Benjamin Sisko trick the Romulan Star Empire into an alliance with the Federation and the Klingon Empire[6][7]
Starfleet operations
- The USS Seattle is recommissioned for duty during the Dominion War.[8]
Deep Space 9
- Starbase Deep Space 9 remains on the front lines of the Dominion War conflict. The station is briefly captured by the Dominion, and then re-taken.[3][9]

Journey of the USS Voyager

- USS Voyager continues the long journey through the galaxy's Delta Quadrant.[10][11]
- Three years after disappearing and fourteen months after being declared lost, Voyager manages to reestablish contact with Starfleet using the Hirogen Relay Network.[12]

- Jadzia Dax is killed by Skrain Dukat, who is now considering himself an emissary of the Pah-wraiths. Under emergency circumstances, the Dax symbiont is joined with Ensign Ezri Tigan.[16][17]
- Vice Admiral Fujisaki, the Deputy Chief of Starfleet Intelligence, dies of apparent food poisoning - possibly at the hands of the Tal Shiar.[18]

Life and times of Jean-Luc Picard
- Jean-Luc Picard continues service in Starfleet as captain of the Federation starship USS Enterprise, leading a variety of missions for diplomacy and occasional involvement if Dominion War battles. Picard and key members of his senior staff briefly resign in protest of a Starfleet operation to abduct the entire Ba'ku population with a holoship. After it is revealed to be a Son'a plot, Picard and crew are reinstated.[20][21]
