Skill

Skill (スキル sukiru / 技 waza),[1] also known as action (行動こうどう Kōdō)[2][3] and specialty (とくせい tokusei),[4][3] is the type of skill from each action available for the Parts from Medabots. Each Medal can improve their Skill Level (熟練度じゅくれんど Jukurendo) by using Parts with the same Skill, improving their efficiency with Parts of the same type.

Skill types

Skill Details
Strike
(なぐる Naguru)
A grappling attack on the nearest opponent, with a so-so chance of a critical hit. User cannot defend during cooldown.
Berserk
(がむしゃら Gamushara, Reckless)
A grappling attack on the nearest opponent. The action's strength is related to the Propulsion value from the legs. User cannot defend nor evade during cooldown.

Attacks of this type usually have the Medabot smashing the target, doing damage without any added effects. Berserk attacks are generally very powerful, but inaccurate.

Grapple
(かくとう Kakutō, Fight)
The collective name for Strike and Berserk, and the name of their attribute, having a higher compatibility with the Kuwagata Medal. From Medarot 8 onward these two were combined into a single Skill, and the penalties became part of specific attacks instead of their Skill type. In the anime dub it was also referred as wrestling.[5]
Shoot
(うつ Utsu)
A normal shooting attack with no penalty afterwards.
Aim Shot
(ねらいうち Neraiuchi, Snipe)
A shooting attack with a high chance of a critical hit. User cannot evade during cooldown.
Shooting
(しゃげき Shageki, Shoot)
The collective name for Shoot and Aim Shot, and the name of their attribute, having a higher compatibility with the Kabuto Medal. From Medarot 8 onward these two were combined into a single Skill, and the penalties became part of specific attacks instead of their Skill type.

(まもる Mamoru)

Heal
(なおす Naosu)

Others (そのほか Sonohaka[6])
Special (とくしゅ Tokushu[7])

In Medarot 5, Skill is also the name from a parameter of the head and arm Parts that affects the Medaskill.

Sub-Skills

Sub-Skills (サブスキル) are a Skill type in Medarot 8 and 9.

  • Reckless (がむしゃら Gamushara) - The user rushes forward, the action's damage spreading to all parts from the target. The Reckless (レックレス) action can temporarily give this Sub-Skill to Fight parts.
  • Snipe (ねらいうち Neraiuchi) - Parts with this Sub-Skill can choose which part from the opponent they attack, with a target scope appearing to lock-on the target before the action, and the Charge duration is halved. The Snipe (スナイプ) action can temporarily give this Sub-Skill to Shot parts.
  • Anti-Air (アンチエア) - Medarot 9 only. Causes more damage to targets with Flight leg types.
  • Anti-Sea (アンチシー) - Medarot 9 only. Causes more damage to targets with Sea leg types.
