Rumbla Island is a location that can be visited in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It is found in the Lushgreen Sea after Zokket destroyed the Uni-Tree. Rumbla Island is the first area to be visited after Mario and Luigi reach Shipshape Island, as well as the first one to be linked. It is the home of Chief Willma, who serves as its ruler, and her children Maykit and Billdit also live here. Stone sculptures made by the villagers can be found throughout this area.

History

Mario and Luigi first arrive to find Guardarms causing trouble for the villagers, destroying the sculptures crafted by the villagers. After the Bros. help the villagers, Chief Willma arrives and decides they can go to the northern part of the island where the lighthouse resides, allowing the island to be linked to Shipshape Island. Afterward, she reveals that Maykit and Billdit got stranded on Twistee Island and Raynforst Island, and they can only come back after those islands are linked.

Later, after the Bros. reconnect Twistee Island and Raynforst Island, the Guardarms attack again, this time causing much more vandalism than in their first assault. When the Bros. return to investigate, a beast known as Gorumbla is found to be responsible, as he felt left out. Upon defeat, Gorumbla is scolded for his destructive behaviour by Willma, who sends him flying, and the Rumblans rebuild their art. Returning here later in a sidequest reveals that Gorumbla dedicated himself to repairing the damage done.

Gorumbla later contracts Glohm after a monster named Reclusa awakens, causing Gorumbla to attack the island (again angering Willma) and then try to kill her. Mario and Luigi defeat Gorumbla, returning him to normal. Despite his lack of control over his actions and his best attempts to apologise, Gorumbla is mocked by Willma, but her children come to his defense, reminding her of his importance to their family. Willma apologises and Gorumbla joins her family once more as he, Willma, Maykit, and Billdit form a Bond. This is one of the many Bonds required to invade the Soli-Tree.

Enemies

Bosses are bolded and italicised.

After Reclusa goes on a rampage, the enemies are replaced with Glohm-contaminated versions of themselves, and Guardarms become hostile again. Gorumbla must also be fought again, this time powered by Glohm.
