Origami Goombas are Goombas that were made into Folded Soldiers to serve as the brainwashed minions of King Olly. Origami Goombas only appear in Paper Mario: The Origami King.

History

Origami Goombas, like all other Folded Soldiers, were once regular Goombas, who had been stapled into origami, brainwashed to serve Olly. One of these Goombas can be talked to at the beginning of the game, who is convinced he's at a party at Peach's Castle, therefore he's all excited (and gets more excited when he meets ever so famous Mario.) However, he is soon turned into a Folded Soldier. And he, as well as some more Goombas, serve as the tutorial fight (as well as some Shy Guys), introducing Mario and the player to the new battles. Later, once Stapler is destroyed, so are the staples making them origami. The remaining ones turned back into regular, flat, sane Goombas when Olivia finishes the Thousand Cranes Technique, wishing the origami mess Olly made went back to normal.

In Paper Mario: The Origami King

Origami Goomba appears as enemies. They serve as common enemies, as well as the tutorial fight. They have the same tactics as their flat counterparts (performing headbonks), but they can also perform a team attack where they all go in a line, one headbonks the one in front of him, causing him to fly into the next, and so on until one hits Mario. Then, the Goombas (excluding the one who hit him), move forward and repeat the process until there's one Goomba, who headbonks him.
