Jack Daniel Wells[1] (born 7th April, 1941 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada[2], died 28th November, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada), known by his stage name Danny Wells, was a voice actor who provided the voice of Luigi in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show[2], and played him in the "real-life" segments. He was also well known for his role as Charlie the Bartender on The Jeffersons TV series.

Wells died in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on November 28, 2013 from cancer at the age of 72. For fans of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, Wells' death was poignant since it was Nintendo's "Year of Luigi" and the 30th Anniversary celebration of the character (1983). He is buried at Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California. His obituary states that "Danny followed his dreams ... he made them laugh." Wells' headstone inscription reads: "Keep 'em laughing."
