MADEIN (Hangul: 메이딘; Japanese: メイディン), stylized as MΛDEIN, formerly known as LIMELIGHT, is a six-member South Korean multinational girl group under 143 Entertainment. Originally as seven, they made their debut on September 3, 2024 with the EP Rise.
History
2024: Rebrand & Re-debut with Mashiro, Yeseo, Serina & Nagomi
On July 15, 2024, all SNS accounts belonging to LIMELIGHT were rebranded as MADEIN, indicating that the group would start fresh under the group name MADEIN, with new members.
On July 16, it was reported that former Kep1er members Mashiro and Yeseo would be joining MADEIN which will debut in September 2024.[1]
On July 29, 143 Entertainment posted reveal photos for MADEIN, revealing Mashiro, Yeseo, Serina and Nagomi as official members, in addition to MiU, Suhye and Gaeun, formerly of LIMELIGHT.[2][3]
On August 13, it was revealed that MADEIN would make their debut with the EP Rise on September 3, with the title track "UNO".[4]
On October 6, MADEIN revealed the name of their official fanclub to be 'MABY', a combination of the group's name and the English word "by", and is pronounced like "maybe". With fans alongside MADEIN, the members will heal and overcome all the trials and tribulations.
On November 11, it was misreported by 143 Entertainment that Gaeun would be entering a hiatus due to "health reasons".[5] On November 22, it was revealed that Gaeun had gone on hiatus due to the sexual assault and maltreatment she had received from the company's CEO.[6]
On November 29, 143 Entertainment released a statement announcing that Gaeun had officially left MADEIN due to personal circumstances and the group would continue activities with the remaining six members.[7]
2025: MADEIN Forever
On January 24, 2025, MADEIN opened the pre-orders for their first single album, "MADEIN Forever", scheduled for February 14.[8]
