Iris is the protagonist of LoliRock. She is the princess of Ephedia and heir to the throne. She fights alongside her friends and fellow princesses to protect her adopted planet, Earth, from evil and to free her home planet, Ephedia, from Gramorr’s clutches.
Appearance
Iris has wavy blonde hair that goes down to her waist with bangs swept to the right and a medium-length hair strand resting on her left shoulder. She also has fair skin, light blue eyes, freckles around her nose, and pale pink lips.
She usually wears a bright pink headband with a big bow on the right side of her head, a pink layered, strapless, sweetheart mini dress that reaches slightly below her hips with the first layer in light pink and the second layer in pale pink. She wears a dark purple broadband adorned with a dark purple bow around the waist with a thick dark purple lining on each layer and a pair of purplish-brown ankle boots with bright pink straps around the ankles. Around her neck, she wears a white double-stringed necklace with a pink heart-shaped pendant surrounded by a golden heart-shaped frame with a loop.
As a child, she wore her hair in a high ponytail held by a white bow. She would wear a light blue sundress and dark purple flats with a yellow flower on them.
After transforming, Iris has rose pink lips and long, bright pink hair pulled back by a gold headband adorned with a sparkling dark pink heart. She wears a single dangling pink heart-shaped earring with a gold heart-shaped center. She wears a gold neckline with a pink heart outlined with a golden line and trim heart-shaped cut in the center. She also wears a dark pink bow tied around her chest.
She wears a white, gold, and pink strapless dress with a pink heart on her chest and a heart-shaped cutout in the center, along with long white, gold, and pink detached sleeves. The dress has pink and white layers with a gold trim. A sheer, sparkly pink mesh flows from her hips down to the floor, trimmed with gold hearts. Underneath her dress, she wears dark pink short shorts. Lastly, she wears pink, dark pink, and white heeled boots.
Dark Iris is transformed into the evil form. She Has Dark Purple Hair. She can only be seen in episode 12 while having this outfit. It is showing her dark side, mixed with her light colors, she has Dark Purple knee-length hair and Dark Purple lips. She wears a white strapless dress with a gold neckline with a purple heart outlined with a golden line and trim heart-shaped cut in the center, purple and white under layers with gold trim, a floor-length sheer mesh below the hips from behind, white arm warmers with black lining and dark purple thigh-high boots with dark purple thighs.
In the episode, "Shanila Surprise", while going through the Shanila rite of passage, Iris obtains a mysterious power-up form whose magic gem color is light violet. Her hair becomes a white-light pink color that is often seen floating up with layers of rocks tiering around it. In this form, her eyes turn light pink as well.

Personality
Iris is a kind-hearted and selfless girl who is willing to help anyone in need, even those who are unkind to her. She will always be there when her friends need her and will never give up on them. She is willing to show forgiveness to people who have done her wrong, even if they have not or will not do the same to her. Because of this, her compassion can be taken advantage of, as shown in "No Thanks For The Memories", where she easily agreed to fight against her former friends after being brainwashed. She is also passionate about music and enjoys performing in the band LoliRock. Besides this, Iris is also very brave, quick thinking, confident and is always very determined to defeat her enemies and protect her loved ones.
History
Pre-series
Iris was born on Ephedia as the only daughter of the High King Hyperion and Queen Manon of planet Ephedia, making her the crown princess of the entire planet as well as its main kingdom. However, when she was a newborn, her home world was attacked by the evil Lord Gramorr, where he took control and overthrew her parents as ruler. In order to protect her, the Queen sent her baby daughter to the magic-free world of Earth in order to keep her safe. When Iris arrived on Earth, she was unaware of her true heritage or of her magical powers and grew up for most of her life, believing to be a regular girl. Iris was adopted by her Aunt Ellen and lived in Sunny Bay, where she became best friends with Nathaniel. She eventually develops strong feelings towards him as she got older, but is too afraid to admit how she feels. Iris also gained a rival, Missy Robins, who also had feelings towards Nathaniel.
In-series
Having recently been fired from a babysitting job due to her singing causing a mess, Iris was in a slum over being able to keep a proper job, but then, Nathaniel suggested that she audition for a new band called LoliRock, and after some hesitation, she agreed. When she started singing, her voice unleashed a burst of energy which trashed the entire room, causing Iris to panic and run off. However, the energy burst attracted the attention of the evil Gramorr, who sent Mephisto and Praxina after Iris, but she managed to escape thanks to the help of Talia and Auriana, who brought her to a remote island where they told her about her long-lost family and of her true abilities.

Magical Abilities
Iris possesses great magical powers, being able to perform complicated spells by herself. She also possesses a great deal of agility and physical strength, being able to run up the vertical crystal wall, jump from it and break a crystal with her fist. After her Shanila power-up, her magical powers increase, so she was able to break the mountain in half with one blow. She uses the Scepter of Ephedia to attack her enemies. She is an excellent fencer and very skillfully wields the sword.

- Within the group, LoliRock, Iris is the lead singer.
- Iris' character reference was actress/singer Taylor Momsen, aka the Pretty Reckless.
- Momsen was best known since her childhood for playing Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000 film) and grew up in the years when she played Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl.
- She is the last person in the group to get Shanila.
- She is also the first Princess to have access to Shanila after going through it and has used it the most.
- She is the only princess so far in the group whose name does not end with the letter A.
- Her magic crest has a symbol of a cross-star despite her motif being a heart.
- At the beginning or end of each episode, Iris writes about the day's events in her diary.
- She is ambidextrous.[2]
- She is the only character whose weapon has been broken more than once.
- She is the first to be turned evil as shown in "No Thanks For The Memories," followed by Auriana in "Wicked Red," and Talia in "Dancing Shoes".
- She is also the first and seemingly only princess whose eyes changed color whilst being evil.
- A frequent error in early episodes of the series is that sometimes her lipstick changes color, and there is an confusion between pale and hot pink lips.
- As said by Nathaniel in "Home Part I", her favorite food is Spaghetti.
- Her name is pronounced differently in international adaptions. In the original French version, her name is pronounced Iris with an I, while in the English dub, her name is pronounced Iris with AI.
- In the Chinese Mandarin dub, Iris' name is pronounced 'ai lee seuh （爱丽丝）which in Chinese doesn't translate to an iris flower. Instead, it is falsely translated to 'Alice', which seems to be an error between translation.
