The Best Guard is a British comic inspired by The Lion Guard. It was published by Panini Comics on December 15, 2016, as part of The Lion Guard Magazine.
Synopsis
As the Lion Guard walks the Pride Lands, Bunga declares that they are the best Lion Guard ever. Zazu is dubious of Bunga's claim, but Simba agrees with the statement, pointing out that Fuli is faster than any lion. Even so, Zazu remains doubtful and points out that Lion Guards of the past had been able to scale entire rock walls. To his surprise, Bunga does so.
Unfazed, Zazu asks Ono to look upon a tree filled with animals and fruits, and spot the differences, as previous Lion Guards had been able to do. Ono succeeds, but Zazu does not back down from his stance.
Zazu explains that the Lion Guards of the past had been full of wisdom, but Kion surprises him by relaying wisdom of his own that he had learned from his father. Finally, Zazu asks them to prove their strength by knocking down a large boulder that is perched atop smaller stones. Beshte promptly smashes the rock, and Zazu at last admits defeat.
