Tazama is a female lion. She is a member of Simba's pride. She currently serves as the Keenest of Sight member of the Lion Guard.
Initially, Tazama lived in exile from the Pride Lands. However, when the Outsiders reintegrated into Simba's pride, Tazama became a Pride Lander once more and joined Vitani's self-formed Lion Guard as its Keenest of Sight. She partook in the Battle of the Lion Guards, during which she and her teammates competed against Kion's Lion Guard for the right to protect the Pride Lands. Tazama won her individual competition against Anga, and her team ultimately prevailed against Kion's.
Biography
Early life
Tazama lived in the Outlands as a member of the Outsiders. Because of their support of the late Scar, she and her fellow pride members were banished from the Pride Lands by King Simba. However, after the reunification of the Outsiders and the Pride Landers, Tazama reintegrated into Simba's pride and joined Vitani's self-formed Lion Guard as its Keenest of Sight.[1]

Shortly into Vitani's tenure as the leader of the Lion Guard, Kion's Lion Guard entered the Outlands en route to the Pride Lands. Mistaking them for enemies, Vitani ordered her team to engage them in battle. During the ensuing fight, Tazama located a tree and instructed Kasi to climb it in order to evade Fuli's attack. However, Tazama was soon knocked down by Mzingo and his parliament. Kion nearly used the Roar of the Elders to defeat Vitani and her Lion Guard for good but was stopped by Kiara and Kovu, who explained that the Outsiders had joined the Pride Landers. Though confused, Kion halted his attack, and the battle stopped.
The next morning, the Lion Guard entered the Lair of the Lion Guard, only to find that Vitani and her Lion Guard were already within. The two teams argued over who should be the Lion Guard, as both Vitani and Kion had the right to lead. Just then, Laini approached, begging for help, and both Lion Guards rushed off to assist her.
Together, Kion's and Vitani's Lion Guards followed Laini to where Thurston was stuck in a hole. The two teams argued over who should rescue Thurston, while Azaad advised Thurston to free himself. After the rescue, Kion commented that they must sort out their problems in order to avoid quarreling. Thurston suggested a competition to determine which team was better, and both Lion Guards agreed to the challenge.
When it came time for her contest, Tazama competed against Anga for who was the Keenest of Sight in the Pride Lands. Since Tazama got to pick the challenge, she made the objective be to find Laini in a dark cave. Anga had trouble seeing in the dark, while Tazama was able to utilize her night vision. This allowed her to locate Laini first, which gave her team their second win.
For the final round, Vitani challenged Kion to a mashindano, and he conceded, explaining that Vitani had proven herself worthy by being willing to fight without the Roar of the Elders. Consequently, Vitani's Lion Guard took over as the new protectors of the Pride Lands.[1]
Physical appearance
Tazama is a small and slender lioness. She has gray fur, with a pale gray muzzle, pale gray paws, and a pale gray chest. She has dark ear rims as well as dark speckles beneath her eyes. Her eyes are bright green.[1]

Tazama is analytical and observant. As the Keenest of Sight in the Pride Lands, she has sharp vision and is able to parse out important details during a battle, such as when she guided Kasi to a tree so she could evade Fuli's attack. Unlike her teammates, who tend to overestimate their abilities, Tazama is shrewd and uses her strengths to her advantage. She is also willing to fight dirty, as seen when she challenged Anga to a night vision contest.
During fights, Tazama usually remains on the sidelines and serves as the eyes and ears of her Lion Guard. Despite her more passive role, she is willing to join her friends in battle if the situation calls for it. She is fiercely loyal to her teammates and shares a deep camaraderie with them.[1]
