Diku is a female lion. She is a member of the Ndona Pride. She is the sister of Dwala, Naanda, and Sarabi, and the aunt of Simba and Nala.
Initially, Diku served under Mufasa. However, when Scar killed Mufasa and seized the throne, she and her fellow lionesses were forced to over-hunt the Pride Lands. Eventually, a full-grown Simba returned, defeated Scar, and became the new king of the Ndona Pride.
Biography
Early life
Diku had three sisters: Dwala, Naanda, and Sarabi. She was a member of the Ndona Pride.[1]
Scar's plot
Mufasa, his majordomo Zazu, Simba, and Nala watched as the lionesses hunted a zebra. Along with Diku and Dwala, the lionesses successfully pinned down their prey. Some time later, Diku scolded an adolescent Simba when he ruined one of their hunts. Shortly afterward, Scar attacked Sarabi, and her sisters informed Mufasa. After Banagi talked Scar into becoming the king, Scar and his hyena allies marched to Pride Rock and overwhelmed Mufasa while the lionesses looked on helplessly. Scar took the throne and sent Baasho to kill Simba. When the hyena came back with Simba's tail in his teeth, Sarabi angrily tried to attack him, but Naanda soothed her, and Diku and Dwala tried to hide their anger from Scar. During Scar's reign, the lionesses were harassed by the hyenas to continue hunting despite the shortage of food. When Simba returned and defeated Scar, the lionesses looked down on Banagi and Baasho before Simba decided to banish them to the desert.[1]

Scar's plot
Diku sat alongside her sisters and Simba as Mufasa watched a fire raging near the border of their lands. When all options failed, Mufasa gave a signal to Sarabi to run, and the lionesses and the animals of the kingdom fled. Later, when Simba and Nala were adolescents, Diku was implied to be out hunting with the other lionesses. Soon after, she and the lionesses gathered to see Mufasa challenge Scar to a duel at the Fire Tree Bridge. After Mufasa lost and died, Scar and the hyenas ascended to power, with Simba running away into exile.
Later, while at a water hole, Diku told a frustrated Nala that it was "simply delicious" how she had stood up for herself against Scar. Nala then decided to form a false interest in Scar in order to turn him against the hyenas. It was implied that Diku disapproved of this idea. After Simba returned and defeated Scar, the lionesses looked on with tears in their eyes. Under Simba's reign, Diku and her fellow lionesses watched with contentment as the now-healthy herds grazed.[2]Personality and traits
Like her sisters, Diku is passive and did not stand up for herself when Scar took over the Ndona Pride. She is a fierce and talented hunter.[1]
