Lee Nayoung (이나영) is a South Korean trainee.

She is best known for being a contestant on the survival shows The Voice of Korea 2020, The Legend, The New Singer, The Debut: Dream Academy, and Girls On Fire.

Career

2020: The Voice of Korea 2020

On June 12, 2020, Lee Nayoung was introduced as a contestant in the third episode of the Mnet survival show The Voice of Korea 2020. For her blind audition, she performed "Only One" by BoA and received three chair turns from the coaches Sung Si Kyung, Kim Jong Kook, and BoA.^[1] She decided to choose Sung Si Kyung as her coach.

On July 3, she performed "How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You're the One I Love" by AKMU in the sixth episode with Hong Ju Hyun during the battle round.^[2] She was eliminated after Sung Si Kyung chose Hong Ju Hyun as the winner of the battle.

2021–2022: The Legend, The New Singer

On July 15, 2021, she was introduced as a contestant in the first episode of the KBS2 survival show The Legend, The New Singer.^[3]

During the show, she performed "Girl and the Lamppost" by Jin Mi Ryung, "Now" by Seoul Family with Jung Junhui, "Wings" by Heo Young-ran, "Missing You" by Lee Eun Mi, and "A Thousand Years of Love" by Park Wan Kyu.^{[4][5][6][7][8]}

On September 18, it was announced that she finished in second place in the final episode of the show.^[9]

On July 24, 2022, she performed two of the songs she sang during The Legend, The New Singer in the 1390th episode of the KBS television show Open Concert.^[10][11]

2023: The Debut: Dream Academy

On August 29, 2023, she was revealed as one of the 20 contestants competing on the HYBE and Geffen Records survival show The Debut: Dream Academy.^[12] On September 5, her video introduction was released on YouTube.^[13]

During the show, she performed "Still Into You" by Paramore during the first mission, "Fearless" by LE SSERAFIM during the second mission, and "Buttons" by The Pussycat Dolls during the third mission.^[14][15][16]

On November 5, she was eliminated at the end of the third mission after she did not receive a pass to the live finale.^[17]

2024: Girls On Fire, debut cancellation

On March 18, 2024, she was revealed as one of the 50 contestants competing on the JTBC survival show Girls On Fire.^[18]

During the first three rounds, she performed "Sorry" by Lena Park in the first episode, "Track 9" by Lee So Ra in the fourth episode with Cho Yein, Kim Hanbyeol, Son Yeongseo, & nov, and "Sixth Sense" by Brown Eyed Girls in the sixth episode with Lee Arumsoul.^[19][20][21]

During the first round of the playoffs, she performed "Jackpot" by Block B in the eighth episode with RETA.^[22] For the second round, she performed "Get A Guitar" by RIIZE and "D.I.S.C.O" by Uhm Jung Hwa & T.O.P in the ninth episode with Yang Irae, Lee Sooyoung, Jung Yuri, & Cho Yein.^[23][24]

During the first round of the finals, she performed "Fire!" produced by Young K in the 10th episode with Lee Sooyoung, Yang Irae, Jung Yuri, & Khan Amina.^[25] She also performed "Audition" produced by Yoon Jong Shin with Kang Yunjeong, Cho Yein, Kim Kyuri, & Park Seojeong.^[26]

During the second round of the finals, she performed "Standing Next to You" by Jung Kook and "Rest" by Doyoung in the 11th episode with Lee Sooyoung, Hwang Seyoung, Yang Irae, & Cho Yein.^[27][28]

On June 25, it was announced that she finished in first place and became a member of the winning group of the show with Hwang Seyoung, Lee Sooyoung, Kang Yunjeong, & Yang Irae.^[29]

However, on December 23, it was announced that the debut of the group had been cancelled due to circumstances with the agency they were supposed to join after the show.^[30][31]
