IVE Empathy (stylized in all-caps) is the third EP by IVE. It was released on February 3, 2025 with "Rebel Heart" and "Attitude" serving as the album's double title tracks.
"Rebel Heart" was pre-released on January 13, 2025.
The physical album will be available in 12 versions: Me, You, And Us, Loved IVE, PLVE, MD and six member-specific digipacks.
Background
On December 1, 2024, Starship Entertainment announced that that IVE is currently preparing for their comeback scheduled for January 2025.[1] On December 24, IVE announced that they will be releasing their third EP IVE Empathy on February 3, 2025.[2]
Composition
The opening song "Rebel Heart" is described as a song that combines diverse vocal harmonies and a thrilling chorus, and the sweet strings and up-tempo drums create a rich sound. The comforting lyrics and the majestic sound give a strange sense of reversal.[3]
The second track "Flu" is a pop dance song with an addictive chorus melody and rich vocal harmonies. The refreshing drum rhythm harmoniously adds to the colorful synth sounds to create a fresh atmosphere.[4]
The third track "You Wanna Cry" is a reinterpretation of Whitney Houston's famous song "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" in IVE's own style. Modern rock style drums and colorful synth sounds richly fill the sound on top of a familiar melody, and the contrasting gentle acoustic guitar sound adds a warm and delicate atmosphere to the song.[4]
The fourth track "Thank U" is an attractive song with medium tempo drums and groovy bass lines. The gently spreading horn sound and electric guitar blend harmoniously, and the rich vocal harmony adds to the perfection of the song. This is the first song in which member Liz participated in writing the lyrics.[4]
The fifth track "Attitude" is a song about cheerfully accepting an unchangeable situation because the only thing that can be changed in an unchangeable situation is your attitude. Member Jang Wonyoung participated in writing the lyrics, adding to the meaning.[5]
The sixth and final track "TKO" which starts with an impressive brass sound, is a song that leaves a strong impression with the rhythmic hip-hop rhythm and groovy 808 bass sound. The mature vocals of the IVE members further increase the immersion of the song.[4]
Commerical performance
According to Hanteo Chart, IVE Empathy sold 619,103 copies in its first day of sales.[6] By February 7, the album surpassed one million copies sold.[7]
On April 10, 2025, IVE Empathy was certified Million by the KMCA for selling one million copies via Circle Chart.[8]

On February 3, 2025, exclusive behind the scenes photos from the "Attitude" music video shooting were released through MelOn Magazine.[12]
