Hyeme (혜미; also written as Hyemi) is a former South Korean singer. She is a former member of the girl groups BLACKSWAN and RaNia.

Career

2015–2020: RaNia

She made her first appearance with RaNia in July 2015. On November 3, 2015, she was officially revealed as a member of the group together with Zi.U (then known as Seulji) ^[1] and officially debuted with the group's third mini album Demonstrate.

In mid-2016, DR Music announced that they were working on a sub-unit that consisted of Hyeme and band-mate Alex, the sub-unit never had a music video nor an album, but the girls together recorded the track "No Dab" for the mini album Refresh 7th.^{[citation needed]}

2020: BLACKSWAN

On June 26, 2020, Hyeme announced through the group's SNS that she was the only member left, and explained that would be strange to release an album under the name RaNia, arguing that due to this the group would start fresh under the name BLACKSWAN and that they would soon be releasing a new album, with new members.^[2] The group debuted on October 16 with their first album Goodbye RANIA.

On November 9, 2020 media outlet Dispatch reported that Hyeme was accused of fraud after allegedly scamming an unidentified male office worker out of 50 million KRW ($45,000 USD) that was lent to pay for her rent, living expenses and credit card bills. The following day, DR Music announced they would be filing a counter lawsuit against the individual. The agency also revealed that her exclusive contract had ended on November 7 but will still legally represent her until the issue is resolved.^[3]^[4] On November 17, Hyeme issued an apology to fans of BLACKSWAN and RaNia, noting that she would retire from the entertainment industry.^[5] On August 18, 2021, it was revealed through YTN Star that Hyeme had been found not guilty for the crime.^[6]

On August 17, 2021, SBS reported that a man in his thirties filed for divorce from Hyeme earlier this month. According to the report, Hyeme legally registered her marriage to him in June 2020, before Black Swan's official debut.^[7]
