— Description • Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Official Strategy Guide (Prima) |
Flora is an enemy in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It is a member of the plant kingdom like Lovely and Leafan. It haphazardly (and leisurely) floats down from the sky using the petals on its head like a parasol to slow its inevitable fall. It gives no ability when swallowed and isn't that much of a nuisance, so Kirby is best off avoiding it. If Kirby inhales it, holds it above his head, and jumps off a ledge, he will slowly float down as if he was holding Bumber or a similar enemy.
Physical Appearance
Flora is a peppy yet delicate little flower head. It has an oblate spheroidal tan-yellow body with a constantly smiling face on it. Around its head are eight salmon-colored petals which can spread apart to slow its descent when falling. It has a very small thorny green stem. Its behavior and appearance resemble that of the "whirling nut", the name for seeds of the Gyrocarpus plant.
Trivia
- Flora bears a resemblance to Spindrift, an enemy in Super Mario 64 (another Nintendo 64 game) as they are both floating flower-like enemies with a crown of petals atop their head.
