Kep1er (Kepler), considered one of the ‘4th generation 1st tier’, offers exhilarating summer happiness.
Kep1er (Choi Yujin, Xiaoting, Mashiro, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Seo Youngeun, Kang Yeseo) released their second mini-album 'DOUBLAST' through online music sites before 6 pm on the 20th. The first comeback after 5 months.
‘DOUBLAST’ is an album that contains the adventure story of nine girls who took the first step with the debut song ‘WA DA DA’ and the dream of becoming a reality. Kep1er plans to invite listeners to ‘Kep1er Island’ in the summer and tell the story of the brilliant music of nine colors through five songs.
First of all, the title song ‘Up!’ is a combination of rhythmic punk house and soulful house genres, with energetic vocals and cute lyrics to enhance the refreshing summer atmosphere.
In addition, ‘LE VOYA9E’, which depicts the voyage that the nine members will unfold together, ‘Attention’, which contains the mysterious excitement that blooms between the two beyond friends, and a girl who fell asleep regretting the breakup. Five tracks composed of various musical styles, from ‘Good Night’ with a soft sensibility that sings the cute side of the girl, and ‘Rewind’, a fan song about a warm promise to always be with fans who are always supportive.
Kep1er not only demonstrates the power of various genres such as punk house, minimal pop, mumbaton, pop dance, and medium tempo R&B, but also unleashes the fresh and refreshing identity of 9 people and 9 colors in energetic vocals, rhythmic rap, and hooking performances. It is expected to show high-quality musical synergy.
Kep1er's upgraded capabilities include collaboration with top-notch writers from K-POP's representative composer group ‘Full8loom’ to hit song maker ‘Tenzo’, rookie composers whyminsu and MooF, and top domestic guitarists Jujae and Kim Dongmin. By adding powerful power to the sound, a more colorful sound was completed.
Kep1er, who will take the title of ‘4th Generation Tier 1’ following ‘Global One Pick Idol’, will release his second mini-album ‘DOUBLAST’ at 6 pm on the 20th. The new song stage will be released for the first time through ‘Kep1er DOUBLAST On Air’.
Background
On May 27, 2022, WAKEONE confirmed that Kep1er were in preparations for their first comeback following the finale of Queendom 2.[1]
One June 3, a teaser photo on the group's Twitter released the album format, name, and release date.[2]
On June 10, the track listing was released with "Up!" announced as the lead single. Three days later, the highlight medley teaser video was released. The music video teaser for lead single "Up!" was released on June 16 and 17.
