Hunting (狩り Kari?) is the seventh chapter of the Centuria manga series.
Summary
Julian dashes through the forest trying to track down Angvall by using his power to sharpen his senses and punches a bear in his way. After Angvall becomes badly injured by the Demonic Beast, Joseph's father shoots a bag of medicinal herbs and aromatic ingredients at the beast to block its sense of smell, having noticed that it has no eyes, and give him and Joseph the opportunity to retreat while carrying Angvall away. The father also has them soak themselves in the powder to mask the scent of their blood and soak a cloth with their blood to act as bait. With the Demonic Beast having a hard time searching for them, the father believes that they may have a chance of escaping. However, after catching up to them with its speed, the Demonic Beasts manages to directly attack them with it a swipe of its claws and send them crashing. Joseph gives the signal to his father that he will face the Demonic Beast and is cut from behind after charging in. After throwing his blood-soaked cloth, Joseph manages to trick the Demonic Beast into falling into the bottomless swamp and yells out to his father to shoot at one of its arms holding onto a branch to prevent it from lifting itself out. Before the Demonic Beast is completely sought down, a wooden body emerges from one of its mouths and jumps out to land near Joseph and his father to slash at them with its wooden hand sword. Angvall then comes in to shield the two men with her body and is grabbed as the wood humanoid prepares to stab her. However, Julian arrives on time to save Angvall after kicking the wood humanoid away.
