Battle 538 is titled "Distraction"
Summary
Kenichi, Miu, and Shigure have boarded the tanker, which has been surrounded by boats and helicopters from the police. The police helicopter gives a warning for the tanker to stop but is then targeted by the bow-wielding member of the Hachiō Executioner Blade. With two shots of her bow she is able to bring down the helicopter towards one of the police boats.
On another boat a soldier notices something approaching them from the water, which turns out to be the axe-wielding armored knight running across the water surface. Gunfire and the boat's turrets are ineffective on the knight, being protected by his armor and his shield. The knight proceeds to destroy the boat singlehandedly to the surprise of the people onboard.
Kenichi notes how hectic things have gotten and Shigure comments that they have already been sensed by the enemy, addressing the scythe user whose name is Mihai Știrbey. Știrbey casually comments on putting their fight on hold until the police have been cleared out, commends Shigure for her sharp senses and asks if she is from Ryōzanpaku.
Shigure confirms and apologizes to Kenichi and Miu for bringing them along with her. Kenichi has resolved to stay and watch Shigure's fight as her disciple and she comments on his growth, ordering him to find a way to escape. Upon engaging the enemy, Shigure asks if they would allow Kenichi and Miu to leave should she be defeated. Mihai Știrbey says that although the other masters would allow it, he would prefer to cut through them. Shigure replies that if that is the case, then she would make sure to stop Știrbey from being able to continue fighting. Kenichi displays some initial fear but he remembers how Shigure has helped him overcome it and he promises to make sure that Miu would be able to escape.
