On February 18, the first group teaser was released.

Composition

ITZY takes over the entertainment industry with their signature album ‘IT’z ME’, which is saturated with their own colors.

ITZY’s Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna aim to be the mainstream girl group from new scarily prodigious rookies with their second mini album ‘ITz ME’ which describes their real “Me”.

The title song ‘WANNABE’ delivers the message of “One and only ME”, which is about showing their unique colors that do not live up to others standards. Unfiltered lyrics like “It’s me who lives this ‘cause it’s my life”, “No matter what they say I’m me, I just want to be me” confidently shout that the subject of my life is myself, serving as a catharsis to the listeners.

ITZY has reunited with the composing team * (GALACTIKA *), that produced explosive synergy with ITZY’s ‘DALLA DALLA’, and has already gathered a lot of attention. The song ‘WANNABE’ is a fusion groove track that has EDM, house, and hip-hop elements in one song. The addictive melody is expected to hit the K-pop market once again.

The new album has seven other new songs including 'TING TING TING with Oliver Heldens', ‘THAT’S A NO NO’, ‘NOBODY LIKE YOU’, ‘YOU MAKE ME’, ‘I DON’T WANNA DANCE’, and ‘24HRS’

The new album’s credits has the names of stellar composers. The 4th track ‘NOBODY LIKE YOU’’s lyricist is Yubin from Wonder Girls, and Collapsedone, who collaborated with Twice’s ‘KNOCK KNOCK’, ‘What Is Love?’, participated in composing and arranging the song. You can feel the charm of the new combination from the song.

With all of the MVs of their songs having reached more than a hundred million views, it’s highly anticipated that the fierce momentum of ITZY will grow even stronger from ‘WANNABE’. Visuals and ITZY’s teen crush concepts have been upgraded, serving us a music video that you don’t want to miss a second of.

Scenes like throwing high heels away and walking on the runway with bare feet, messing up a set dinner table, and feeling liberated by cutting their own hair deliver viewers with the freedom and energy of ones who have escaped the social rules.

The group dancing scene especially proves ITZY’s mastery with being on stage, urging the viewers to play the video on loop. The perfect group dance that you can’t take your eyes off and the dynamic point movements thrills the viewers.

ITZY has rewritten the K-pop girl group history with the debut song ‘DALLA DALLA’ and ‘ICY’ since their grand appearance in the k-pop scene on February 12, 2019. With their ground-breaking records such as their MVs reaching one million views two times in a row, ranking in first place on Korean broadcasting music shows in the shortest time in K-pop girl group history and being rewarded with ten rookie of the year awards, they have been leading the ‘ITZY craze’. And they’re coming right back for the 3rd hit of 2020 with the second mini album ‘IT’z ME’, which is more vibrant with their charm this time. Attention is focused on ITZY's unique path as they rise from a rising star in the lineage of "girl group powerhouse JYP" to the "wannabe" of K-pop girl groups.

ITZY, who are turning the public's expectations into satisfaction by showing off their one and only 'me', are expected to shine even brighter in their future.

IT'z ME received generally favorable reviews from critics. Writing for IZM Kim Do-heon was mixed in his review, praising "The five members of Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna in Wannabe's refrain, I don't wanna be somebody / Just wanna be me Exclaim. Contrary to intention, however, there are traces of numerous' Wannabe 'like the song title at this point where the members' voices are gathered together. JYP's unique and vibrant image is gathered in a combination of two-one-one melody and refrain of metal guitar riff, five-member composition and vocal operation overlapping Blackpink and Red Velvet, and inherited from Miss A and Twice." Writing for Billboard, Jeff Benjamin said that "Itzy continue their string of empowering and confident singles with the most striking difference in It'z Me coming from the group's overall sound becoming harder and featuring more electronic productions."
